DAY 1: ARRIVE IN TOKYO, JAPAN

Welcome to Japan! Your hotel room is available for mid-afternoon check-in.

DAY 2: TOKYO

This morning’s sightseeing tour includes visits to the TOKYO TOWER, ASAKUSA KANNON TEMPLE, and NAKAMISE SHOPPING ARCADE. You will also drive through Akihabara and Ueno Park. The remainder of the day is at your leisure for independent activities.

DAY 3: TOKYO

Today, enjoy a full-day excursion to Mount Fuji. Stop at the visitor center, followed by a CRUISE on Lake Ashi. Afterward, take a CABLE-CAR RIDE (weather permitting) for panoramic views of spectacular Mount Fuji, Lake Ashi, and the surrounding area. Return to Tokyo this evening.

DAY 4: TOKYO – KYOTO

Today, transfer to the train station and board your BULLET TRAIN to historic Kyoto, former capital of Japan. Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel. The rest of the day is at your leisure.

DAY 5: KYOTO

Your morning tour includes a visit to NIJO CASTLE, built in 1603 as the official residence of Shogun Tokugawa Ieyasu; the TEMPLE OF THE GOLD PAVILION, covered with shimmering gold leaf; and the IMPERIAL PALACE, home to the Imperial family until 1868. The remainder of the day is at your leisure.

NOTE: The Imperial Palace is closed on Saturdays, Sundays, and national holidays. In these instances, a visit to Nishi Honganji Temple will be substituted.

DAY 6: KYOTO

A full day at leisure to explore more of Kyoto’s historic temples and shrines. You may consider an excursion to nearby Nara to visit Todaiji Temple, which houses the world’s largest bronze statue of Buddha.

DAY 7: KYOTO

Your vacation ends with breakfast this morning. Homebound flights from Kansai International Airport in Osaka should not depart prior to 11 am.
